Project Overview
We were so excited when Deborah decided to work with us. We have been developing digital products (themes & plugins) for Authors, and this was the perfect opportunity to use our new work. We are passionate about helping creatives and small businesses succeed; working with authors is brings both client types together!
My author website needed a massive overhaul and LaLa Projects delivered. They really listened to my needs and then went above and beyond to deliver me a gorgeous website that captured my brand perfectly and was easy for me to update and maintain. WordPress Urban Fantasy Author Website
We were able to put our creativity to work designing and building a custom WordPress website with our new Author Plugin. Deborah had a wonderful established brand that we could tap into for inspiration for her custom-styled website. We love the dark blue color palette and her book covers are expertly crafted!
The Author Plugin
The Author Plugin offers an easy-to-use Book Feature. This feature makes it easy to enter book data on the backend and while auto-populating page content on the frontend. Learn more about the Plugin on our documentation website.
Author Plugin Includes:
- The Books page showcases all the available books.
- The Book Filter helps website visitors sort through books, series, characters, and reading order.
- From the Books page, the website visitor can click into the Book Detail Page. Here they will find all the book purchase options, a description of the book, written excerpts, audio excerpts, and reviews.
- For an extra SEO punch, our Author Plugin is using Schema Markup for Books. This markup helps Search Engines understand book content quickly and easily, streamlining the book data to produce better online results.
- The Books Banner Slideshow Feature, used on the Home Page, allows WordPress admins to select books from the book data.
- The Latest Releases WordPress Block can be added to any page or post. It will automatically pull in the most recently published books.
- The social media icons displayed in the Action Bar and Footer include literary vector icons for GoodReads and BookBub.
