Project Overview
The Greenspire School currently has a middle school and they are working towards starting a high school in the fall of 2021. We were excited to help them bring part of their vision into reality. The overarching goal of this project was to rework the logo and build a website for the new high school while updating the middle school’s online presence at the same.
Project Details
To start, we redeveloped their logo. We decided to keep the two trees of their existing logo to maintain some brand consistency from the old look to the new. This has made the transition from one logo to the next feel pretty seamless. We also created 3 variations on the logo for the school as an organization, the middle school, and high school. The variations offer three different colors, giving each entity their own identity, pairing it with a similar design to provide unity. The colors are also used throughout the website design to help the user with way-finding.
After the logo work was completed, we began working on the design and development of the new website. They wanted to move away from the casual look of the previous middle school website and move towards a website that looked a bit more professional. Their goal was to project the high educational standards that they offer their students through their brand.
We incorporated a few customizations into the website.
Multiple Navigations: In an effort to break up the high school pages from the middle school pages, we created separate menus. In addition to building the menus, we had to add a setting to each page to determine which menu was to display when viewing a given page.
Custom Calendar/News Block: The calendar and news portion of the website belong to the school as a whole, by using categories for high school and middle school we are able to break the content up. We have created a custom block that pulls in the teasers for the calendar and news items based on category.
Custom Resource List Block: The school has a tremendous amount of PDF and links to share on their website. We created a custom block to help them easily create links to these resources.
Announcement Bar: This is for those times when you want to give the entire school system a quick notification. They can quickly add a message that will appear at the top of the website. It gives them the ability to link to a page with more detailed information as well.
