WordPress Wedding Portfolio Plugin

The LaLa WordPress Wedding Portfolio Plugin was built to be compatible with LaLa Theme 4, but we are also able to use it on websites using LaLa Theme 3. While we’d love for it to work with all WordPress themes, there are some dependencies. (see Dependencies tab)

The WordPress Wedding Portfolio Plugin is dependent on the Advanced Custom Fields PRO plugin as well as Bootstrap 4. If your WordPress website has both of these wired up, then it’s likely that your website will support this plugin.

ACF PRO must be installed before the License key can be entered into the WordPress settings.

Once you’ve completed your purchase, here are the steps you’ll need to start showcasing your wedding biz portfolio.

Install the Plugin

1. Download .ZIP file onto your computer.
2. Head on over to your WordPress (WP) dashboard.
3. In the left-hand navigation of WP, click into the PLUGINS menu item.
4. On the PLUGINS page, click the ‘ADD NEW’ button in the upper left, next to the plugin page title.  (This brings you to the free plugin library, but since the WordPress Wedding Vendors Plugin is a premium plugin, you’ll need to manually upload it.)
5. Click the ‘UPLOAD PLUGIN’ button in the upper left, next to the plugin page title.
6. Click the button to ‘CHOOSE FILE’ and locate the .ZIP file you saved to your computer (Note: the file should remain zipped when you upload it)

Activate the Plugin

1. In the left-hand navigation of WP, click into the LALA PRODUCTS menu item. (Located toward the bottom)
2. Enter the master license key
3. Click the Updates Button
4. Then click the Activate Button

Your Lala Products license key can be found on the “Downloads & Licenses” page of your account on the LaLa Projects site or in the email you received after purchasing/renewing a license.

Build out your portfolio content

1. Your portfolio page already exists. You can visit it by going to [yourdomain.com]/weddings
2. Add individual weddings by going the WEDDINGS menu in the WP navigation >> Click on ADD NEW.
3. First, add a title, this will determine the url slug of the wedding.  we suggest the couple’s names followed by the year.  For example: Matt Susan 2021.
4. Then use the tabs to fill in as much information as possible about the wedding.
5. Add as many weddings as you like.

Image Recommendation

Many of our plugin users get a ton of images from the wedding photographer, which is fantastic, but you are should make sure they are sized for the web before you upload them to your media library.

You’ll want to do this for 2 reasons

1. Smaller file sizes will mean fast page load speeds.
2. Adding a tremendous amount of large images/files to the media library can sometimes incur extra storage fees from your hosting provider because you are using more space on the server.

Add to Navigation

Finish it all up by adding a new “Portfolio” page to your website navigation, and you’re ready to roll!
