Understanding the Basics

For those of you that don’t know, WordPress is an open-source Content Management System (CMS). Open source means that it is free to get started and widely supported by a large community of active users. WordPress powers 40% of the websites on the internet today.

WordPress is affordable, very flexible, and highly customizable.  In addition to an easy-to-use content management system, it allows us to build a custom-designed website that will suit your exact needs. It is also natively built to be ADA-compliant.

Built for Customization

The LaLa WordPress Theme 4 was built for customization. See it in action on our documentation website theme4.lalaprojects.com. This theme is well supported; we continue to add new blocks, features, and plugin extensions. From the ground up, this theme was built to be responsive, so it looks great on screen sizes.

This theme uses the new WordPress Gutenberg content editor with building block functionality. Gutenberg makes creating new pages, blog posts, and content blocks a breeze. We are excited to be able to offer you the latest and greatest tools available.

The Future of WordPress is Gutenberg

The official release date of WordPress 5.0 was December 6th, 2018. WordPress 5.0 was the first time that the Gutenberg Editor was included as the primary editor in WordPress. It was a rough start because old developers were entrenched, desperate to hold on to the classic editor. Everyone got over the hump and found a path forward.

At LaLa Projects we embraced WordPress and the new Gutenberg editor. We couldn’t be happier. We are regularly adding new blocks to our Theme 4, making page building more fun and flexible. Checkout our custom block library here https://theme4.lalaprojects.com/custom-blocks/
